I Hear Abs Are Made in the Kitchen…

tuesday workout :: Nothing. Unless you count wandering around Target for an hour and a half. And I most certainly do because anything physical while I’m sick counts as a workout.

wednesday workout :: Nike Training Club workouts :: Core Crunch [15'] &  Ab Burner [15’]. Will try and run later after the Farmer’s Market and before dinner. Whew.

Before my pregnancy, I was ok with ‘just running’. That included minimal cross training [ok, more like random yoga] and zero strength training. This time around I want to become serious about running, meaning I want to do everything in my power to actually be good at this. I don’t want 30 minute 5ks anymore, or taking walk breaks during a hilly run. The track and I will become very good friends. I will not only GO to the gym, but I’ll actually DO productive things instead of just spinning and hightailing it out of there. It’s time to get serious.

My journey to my post partum body comes with additional goals, as stated above. I really want to focus on myself – do more strength training, focus on clean eating, avoid injury.

On the food aspect, I won’t focus so much on calories, but more so on the quality of food I’m eating. I’m notorious for having an amazing day filled with all the right workouts, coupled with ‘excellent for you’ foods – only to sit down at 9 pm to polish off a pint of Ben & Jerry’s while watching Seinfeld.

evil.

Currently, I’m scouring magazines and websites for exercises in addition to what I have access with on the Nike Training app. I also want to focus on things I can do here at home – with a toddler, newborn, and a husband in the military, time for myself is super limited right now. I’m proud of myself for starting the workouts, I just need to get the food aspect under control.

This starts today. I have read that it takes 21 days to form a habit. For 21 days I’ll focus on tweaking my daily regimen to better benefit my body and diet. I’m not one to cut foods out completely – sure, I’ll still indulge in ice cream; just not every night, a pint at a time.

Where do you get your at home workouts? DVDs? Websites? Magazines?

What is your favorite indulgence?

Will you pray for me?! [this ice cream thing is a big deal]
